I’m one of those buyers who is way too skeptical about everything. Before I purchase anything (even if it’s under $10), I will research it for hours. I once spent two hours trying to decide what kind of spatula to buy. Hint: It’s the chef turner spatula from Di ORO at $10.97.
Okay, but I will save the spatula review for another time.
Let’s take a look at the beautiful Crockpot Electric Lunch Box.
FUNCTIONALITY ★★★
I’m going to knock down a star on this one. I love the concept of the Crockpot lunch box, but it does take a long time to heat your lunch. I wish I didn’t have to plug it in and wait a few hours.
It also does not cook food like a typical crockpot. You can heat up all kinds of things for lunch, and it’s perfect if you remember to plug it in or if you’re working somewhere that doesn’t have a microwave, but if you’re looking to cook your lunch from scratch, this isn’t the solution. Also, I must note this thing is a breeze to clean since it is dishwasher-safe.
PORTABILITY ★★
This thing is portable and easy to take anywhere. It has a convenient carrying size and is small enough not to feel too cumbersome to shove in a large tote or bag.
I wish they offered other sizes besides the 20-ounce choice. I took off one star for this reason, but this is perfect if you’re looking for something small and compact! I took off one more star since this product claims to be leak-proof. If you turned this thing upside down, it would leak all over your bag. Unfortunately, I did learn this lesson from experience, and one ruined bag later, I found that I will remember to keep this thing vertical at all times.
STYLE ★★★★
It comes in four different colors: Faded blue, black licorice, blush pink, and moonshine green. If you choose one of the older models, you can pick the black and blue edition or the black and green. I’m honestly a big fan of the color choices for the newer model, so I went with blush pink.
I’m a sucker for any pink accessory. Who doesn’t love something that’s pretty and functional? I’ll give this section a four-star review since the colors are basically perfect for any style.
OVERALL SCORE ★★★
I would give this a rating of 3 out of 4 stars. It hits a lot of marks for me that a lot of other products at a similar price point couldn’t. I actually bought this thing for an international flight I have coming up since I can only eat a few of the airline food choices with CSID.
It’s stylish and overall very functional. I would love it if it had a bigger size choice and if it was leak-proof, but the detachable cord and dishwasher-safe feature make it a perfect solution for those of us who are short on time and food choices at lunch.
