There’s something special about homemade strawberry jam that goes beyond just its sweet taste. From the smell of fresh strawberries to the satisfaction of preserving something you grew in your own garden, making strawberry jam has always been a nostalgia trip for me.

It reminds me of being in Germany with my mom in the summer where the days were long and we would hang out in my grandmother’s garden and I would get to help harvest some of the fruit from the garden. There’s nothing quite like the scent of freshly picked strawberries.
Even as an adult I love harvesting fruit I grow, but turning them into jam is such a simple pleasure that leaves a smell lingering int your kitchen and home. It’s a chance to slow down in a crazy hectic world.
In a world where everything seems to move so quickly, making strawberry jam can be a way to slow down and savor the moment. It’s a chance to connect with nature, create something with your own two hands, and enjoy the simple pleasures of life. If you have CSID, like me, it’s difficult to just go to the store and find jams that don’t contain sucrose in them so making your own can be a great alternative and you can share with your friends and neighbors. Here’s my go-to jam recipe and it only takes 3 simple ingredients you probably arleady have on hand, and the best part is you can use any kind of fruit for this recipe.
